Proverbs 12:18

July 2, 2015
Morning Prayer

Good morning,
"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. "
(Proverbs 12:18) Lord, the tongue is powerful.  Words can tear down relationships, induce shame, guilt, embarrassment, or make one question their intelligence or judgement. Guide my conversation today, Lord. Help me choose words that encourages, bless, and build up rather than tear down. Enjoy joy the day and love always.💖

If Your Heart Says Don't Say It - DON'T

Good morning,
  (James 3-6)
"And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell."

Prior to speaking, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it confidential? Is it necessary? Is it kind? The Holy Spirit can control your speech. Listen to the gentle nudging in your heart that says, "DON'T SAY THAT!" Have a Blessed Day! Love always!

Comment: Just a reminder! My morning prayers are not always original. I share morning prayers with a dear friend. Some mornings I use her prayer, others, a pull from other source, and some are my own.

Mikol Mateen's Double Lung Transplant Fund

Click on the underlined title and view fund raiser with Give Forward! Family and friends sincerely appreciate your support.

Mikol Mateen's family and friends are raising money to help with the medical expenses of his double lung transplant.

Please Help Us!
I am Mikol Mateen born on August 23, 1952. I am diagnosed with a condition called emphysema which is a type of COPD involving damage to the air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs. . I have been living with emphysema since 2007. As a result, my body does not get the oxygen it needs. Emphysema is not curable; however, treatment may slow down its rate of progression and alleviate symptoms. I am in the final stage of the disease, on oxygen twenty-four/ seven, and awaiting a double lung transplant.
Sometimes, we take for granted our physical health. I am an ex rugby player, wrestler, and track runner. Never would I have thought there would be a day in my life when lifting a grocery bag would have me out of breath. A normal day’s activity for me can be challenging, but I manage to maintain with positive determination and assistance from family and friends.
When I was diagnosed with emphysema it ended much of my daily routine of work and creative goals. I was a striving percussionist with endeavors of taking my music to greater heights. I live in Lithia Springs, GA and intend to have the transplant done at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I am pleased to announce that I finally made the transplant list in November 2014. The Heart and Lung Transplant Team at UAB is awesome. I have to commute to Birmingham every month for appointments. Sometimes, I have to stay overnight because I have appointments on consecutive days. This is expensive in itself because I am on disability.

Last year, 2014, was a difficult year for me because I was in and out of the hospital so much. My lungs have deteriorated to the point where they cannot properly remove carbon dioxide (a waste gas) from my blood. My symptoms were as following; rapid breathing, inability to think straight, drowsiness/sleepiness, dizziness, falling, increase blood pressure, increased heart rate, muscle twitches, hand flaps and reduced neural activity. My CO2 levels got so high that I went into respiratory arrest twice. Respiratory arrest is the lack of oxygen to the brain that causes unconsciousness. One of those times I had to be incubated. The doctors feared that I may not revive this incubation. Nevertheless, the Creator has other plans for me.
Expenses for the transplant are going to be extremely expensive. Even after the operation, the medications that I will have to take for the rest of my life will be extremely costly. Even now, some co pays are too much for me to afford. I am also running into complications with my insurance because the transplant may take place out of the state. This is one of the main reasons why fundraising is very important.
Even though, I am 62 years young; I have so much more to offer. With your help, I still have dreams and goals that I am determined to accomplish. Thank you in advance for your donations and God bless you for helping me see my dreams.

Morning Prayer

March 6, 2015

Good morning,
Lord, I praise you for the magnificent body that you have given me. Nevertheless, I want it better for health and longevity. Lord, I ask that you would bring me the wisdom, motivation, and ability to properly exercise my body. Stir me up to power walk and to do cardio workouts. Stir me up to do lunges, and crunches, and lift weights for the glory of God! Stir me up, Lord, stir me up!!! Enjoy the day and love always!

Morning Prayer,

March 5, 2015

Good evening,
Lord, I'm asking that you continue to watch over family and friends throughout these winter months. In fact, Lord, while I'm talking about it, could you just cut winter short. I don't want to complain about cold because some of us are really experiencing some gruesome winter days. I pray that this evening may be holy, good, peaceful, and warmer.
I pray with one heart and mind in Jesus' name.  Amen.
